Opening day forecast throws Mariners fans a cold pitch

The Seattle Mariners’ season and home opener is Thursday evening at T-Mobile Park as the team pursues its first-ever World Series appearance.
The first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. against the Cleveland Guardians, but pregame festivities will get underway at 6:30 p.m.
The roof of the stadium should be open as higher pressure builds over the region in the wake of the mid-week wet, blustery weather system. Skies are expected to gradually clear on Thursday.
Temperatures, though, will be chilly with first pitch readings around 50 degrees. Temperatures will drop well into the 40s as the game proceeds. If going to the game, be sure to be prepared for the cool conditions by wearing several layers of clothing, head coverings, and perhaps even gloves.

What to expect for the Mariners homestand
The four-game series against Cleveland continues through the weekend. The weather should remain dry for both the Friday and Saturday contests with sunshine both days. By Sunday, the threat of rain returns for the 4:10 p.m. start in a nationally televised game. Temperatures through the weekend will again remain cool with evening ballgame readings mainly in the mid-40s to lower 50s.
The homestand continues next week as the New York Yankees come to town for a three-game series. The threat of rain is expected to continue for much of next week, meaning it is quite possible the stadium roof will be closed. The team then hits the road for a three-game weekend series in Anaheim against the Angels.
