Barry Manilow announced his final concert in Seattle, appearing on “Seattle’s Morning News” on KIRO Newsradio Wednesday to give fans a sneak peek at his show. The pop superstar will be performing at the Climate Pledge Arena on July 12.
“Seattle has been very important,” Manilow said. “So we’ve been there a lot… I kind of know Seattle.”
Manilow is a Grammy, Tony, and Emmy-winning music icon who is known for songs such as “Copacabana,” “Can’t Smile Without You,” “Mandy,” and many others.
“It’s been quite a career that I’ve had,” Manilow said. “I never expected it. I was going to be a musician, not a performer. But here I am. Still going.”

The show promises all the hits.
“I used to do a lot of album cuts,” Manilow explained. “But I realized the audiences really want to hear the hits. And I’m there for them, not for me.”
Manda highlighted how Manilow’s songs fit into everyday culture.
“You hear the Band-Aid jingle, the State Farm jingle… For me personally, it’s ‘Mandy,’” Manda said, laughing. “My mom calls me Mandy.”
Manda then asked if Barry could record a ringtone for her again.
