What a strange thing for King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg to do: encourage gang violence.

Dan Satterberg will run for reelection on an odd platform. He wants more heroin addicts to move here; he wants our police to stop enforcing laws against heroin possession; he wants more gang violence, more property crime, more overdoses, more narco-terrorists and more needles strewn throughout the Puget Sound area.

If Dan Satterberg doesn’t want these ills, he had better gain some guts or some knowledge. What is more than clear to anyone who has monitored the disaster of a heroin experiment in Vancouver, B.C. is that it has created all of the above for that city. Now Satterberg wants what Vancouver has: a neighborhood that looks like the set of The Walking Dead.

As the Vancouver Sun writes:

There were 488 illicit drug overdose deaths in B.C. during the first four months of this year, according to the latest data released by the B.C. Coroners Service.

If that pace continues, the number of overdose deaths in B.C. will surpass 1,400 in 2017, which would be a huge increase over the record 935 deaths recorded in 2016.

The report says 136 people died of suspected drug overdose in April alone, a rate of 4.5 deaths per day and a 97.1 per cent increase over the number of deaths occurring in the same month last year (69).

The gang activity is right there with their customers.

Satterberg is unqualified to be our prosecuting attorney. He should know that drug dealers follow their customers, and the gang wars follow drug wars. If he does know that, he is inviting it here as an act of cowardice to avoid angering Democrats. I am told by operatives in politics, those Democrats do not run hard against him because he embraces their madness like government-funded heroin dens.

If Satterberg does not know that drug dealers follow customers, then he is not qualified to be our prosecutor because the man is not capable of the simplest deductive reasoning: drug dealers want to sell where they can make the most money with the least hassle to the largest base of addicts.

The people of King County should elect — oh, how should I say this? — a prosecuting attorney who wants to reduce crime and make King County safer. That is not Dan Satterberg.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — After an eight-year wait, the historic third Michelin star that chef and co-owner Val Cantú and his team at San Francisco’s Californios craved is theirs. It’s a first for any Mexican restaurant worldwide. So it’s understandable he and his 40-person staff have more swagger. “It’s been just really rewarding to see […]

No bodycam footage in fatal Madison police shooting, because the department doesn’t require cameras

As officials review widely circulated bystander videos of the fatal police shooting of a homeless man in Madison, Wisconsin, one key perspective won’t be emerging: footage from the officers’ body-worn cameras. Unlike nearly every other similarly sized city, Madison doesn’t require its police to wear them. The absence of that footage has left residents in […]
