Agree with politics, but not with tone

I have been an active listener to you, Mr. Monson, since at least the late ’90s. I drive for work and have my radio glued to KIRO. I am afraid I must now seek another show for the hours of 12 to 3. I find that you have turned into a populist, reactionary, and panderer to the fears of people. You mock and make snide remarks about others who disagree with your perspective. I more often than not agree with you politically, but the tone of the show has changed to one of pandering anger. Given these factors, I must stop listening to your ranting and anger. You used to be an objective commentator who had perspectives and questions that were insightful and, in my opinion, very thoughtful. It is now an agenda-based program of provocative baiting, condemning, and judging of others. You seemingly have sold out to pander to fears.

Can we talk about the positive, too?

Hello Dori and team, I’ve listened to your show for many years and have a fondness for your honest and direct reporting of the facts and local events. I share many of the same opinions you express. My question is fairly simple. The tone of some of your presentations tends to lean more towards the inefficiency of said programs, political seats, and people/business in general. Would you ever consider illustrating and educating your listeners on the positive accomplishments of said programs, political seats, and people/business? For example do Inslee and Durkan really fail in every category every day of their political careers? Do they NEVER do something good and positive for the citizens of Washington and Seattle? Just as important to report on inefficiency is  to educate voters on who can do good and why they are the best fit for office. By the way, I’m a firm Republican, born and raised in Bothell. As a 49-year citizen of Snohomish County, I love this state and all that it offers. Thank you for what you do.

We have some socialist programs in place

Listening to your comment that socialism is for losers and those who support socialist ideas are losers is calling a wide number of your listeners losers. For example, those on Social Security and/or Medicare are participants of socialist programs. I believe your comment that losers support socialism is nothing but hypocrisy.

Great job to the 911 call-taker

Hi Dori, I just listened to the interview with the 911 operator on your show. I am completely in awe of her grace and skill after being on the job for only three weeks. I can only hope if I am ever in a situation like that homeowner, or any situation that would need me to call 911, that she answers. Great interview.

Talking to the trees

If Sound Transit was smart, they wouldn’t cut these trees down, but instead register them to vote so the next vote on a big tax increase would pass more easily.

Illegal immigration and crime

How can a human be “illegal?” The fact that real people are in our country illegally does not and should not reduce them to something less than human. Dori never takes the employers to task who hire these people and ‘fail’ to keep track of their immigration status. And I’ve never heard him complain about low produce prices. But Dori does love to stir the pots of hate. Hate for progressives, hate for anything Democrat, hate for seeing the individual instead of his ‘label.’ Through Dori’s eyes, the whole world is out to ‘take advantage’ of the poor white male American. In his world, the glass is ‘half empty.’ Better to deport thousands of good people to ‘protect’ us from the ‘bad’ one or two. He’s determined to stay a bitter man.
