Pat O'Day...

There’s a story on the Seattle Times website about local radio legend Pat O’Day. It’s part of a series that historian John C. Hughes of Legacy Washington has been writing for the secretary of state’s office about our state’s icons.

In the initial piece on the Legacy Washington website, Pat O’Day said something nice about me. Then I found out it would be run in the Seattle Times Pacific Northwest Sunday magazine this weekend. I had absolutely convinced myself that the Times would leave out the mention of me.

I’m starting to get paranoid, apparently. I said to my wife a few days ago, “I guarantee you, they’re going to edit out the nice comment about me.” After all, this was at the same time that I was feuding with a Seattle Times columnist.

But I was wrong — they didn’t edit it out. The nice comment from Pat O’Day stayed in the story.

He finds KIRO’s Dori Monson compellingly provocative. “He talks to people one-on-one,” O’Day says.

Thank you, Seattle Times, for leaving O’Day’s kind words about me in the piece.

Democrats keep coming to South Carolina to stump for midterm candidates. It’s all about 2028

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — On paper, South Carolina might be an odd place for Democrats to converge to campaign for midterm candidates. Republicans dominate state politics, and there’s slim chance of that changing this year. But South Carolina is also the first state in Democrats’ next presidential nominating process, so White House hopefuls are looking […]
