As the revelations about the horrendous child molestation at Penn State kept coming out, former Seahawk player and coach Paul Moyer was having a hard time getting his head around how it could have happened.

So he decided to read the entire 28 page grand jury presentment against former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky. And when he did, he tells Dori he wanted to scream.

“This is the most disturbing thing I’ve ever read, watched unfold because of the amount of people that knew about this and did nothing about it. This isn’t about Joe Paterno by the way.”

Moyer is a parent and has coached everyone from professionals to high school teams, and the co-host of Seahawks pre and post-game coverage on 97.3 KIRO FM and 710 ESPN says he had to get on the air to speak out.

“This was a boy…11, 10, 9-year-old boy in a shower at least three people witnessed this man having sex with him and did nothing.”

Moyer says he’s certain his own 20 year old son would have immediately tried to stop the crime and made sure authorities took action, and he’s baffled how Paterno and others didn’t.

“Forget about this “Paterno told his superior,” an angry Dori responds. “He doesn’t have any superiors at Penn State. He is the most powerful guy on campus and if he wanted to stop this he could have stopped it. If he wanted to cover it up, it got covered up and I think he wanted to cover it up.”

Moyer says anyone who has doubts about the case needs to read the disturbing report. And he calls Paterno a coward for not taking action and not resigning immediately instead of waiting for the end of the season.

“This one hurt me. There’s no question. Hopefully they do the right thing.”
