Nancy Guppy – from comedy to art

She was Almost Live’s “Capable Woman,” the gal who was also friends with “the worst girlfriend in the world,” and the egotistical host of a talk show where she demonstrated she was smarter than everyone else. That was almost 11 years ago.
“I don’t think there will be a reunion, we’re getting too old for that,” says Nancy Guppy. “Everyone’s doing really well.”
John Keister still does stand-up comedy, Bob Nelson is a screen writer, others speak and emcee local events, and Guppy is the host of a local show about talented artists, writers, film directors, musicians and more called Art Zone.
Guppy introduces us to some of her favorite art Seattle-area artists in this week’s podcast. (Photo, Nancy Guppy with a puppy) I also chat with Seattle performer Bridget Quigg. Not a household name yet, but maybe someday we’ll hear about her one-woman show on Broadway. For now, her funny, touching, relatable show “Almost Female: A Jockette’s Awesome Journey” is at The Upstage Theater. Show dates, times and ticket information here.
