Folks are making lots of money to help you overcome your white privilege.

But my advice to you is just chat with people. It’s free. Get together with African American friends and talk about the issues. That about the issue of white privilege. Because I don’t understand what am I not getting as a white dude about my privilege.

Or you could go through the racist anonymous 12-step program. Meetings begin with people in the room announcing that they are racist.

Another thing you could do is purchase the “safety pin box” online. You spend between $25 and $100 bucks a month. Then stuff arrives to explain to you why you’re a bad human being. They have some packages that can cost $1,200 dollars!

Or maybe you’d like to get a complicity cleanse, which helps you triumph over patriarchy, sexism, xenophobia and hetero-sexism. You get a menu of things beyond just white privilege that you can do every day; though it doesn’t involve sitting down and talking with your neighbors.

And people are making a lot of money off this stuff. The makers of the safety pin box say their plan is to “make some profit while giving grants to black women activists!”

But what about just hanging out with others that aren’t just like you? Strike up a conversation with someone you’d like to understand better.

As always, please listen to the full audio clip for complete context.
