Seattle transportation crews have patched more potholes in the first six months of this year than in all of 2009 and 2010 combined.
The Mayor’s office report city crews have filled 19,851 potholes so far this year.
Does it seem like there a still a lot of driving divots to dodge? Yes there are. The city says heavy rain and subfreezing temperatures last winter, combined with years of underfunding street maintenance, created a larger number of potholes than normal on city streets.
