A Seattle woman says she let her brother move into her house to help him out during a rough time, now she wants to sell and he won’t move out — thanks to the eviction moratorium.

Holly tells KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson Show her brother is paying her $200 a month to live in her house.

“I let him move in because I figured he’d just get another one of his big IT jobs — because that’s what Seattle is known for,” she said.

Holly estimates she could get $2,300 per month for rent. But she says she can’t get legal help now because of the eviction moratorium.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan extended the eviction moratorium through Sept. 30, and Dori reminded Holly that there’s also a winter eviction ban in effect in the city.

“Our relationship has fallen apart,” Holly said.
