State issues consumer alert on ‘loan mod’ services
Sep 9, 2011, 6:32 AM | Updated: Mar 4, 2016, 5:59 am
The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) is warning consumers to verify the license of any lending professional with which they are considering doing business.
Save My Home, Selig Law Group, and Krista Selig provide loan modification services to consumers without a license issued by the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions.
Additionally, they are not registered to do business in Washington by either the Department of Revenue or the Washington Secretary of State.
Washington State law requires all individuals and companies providing loan modification services to Washington residents be licensed by DFI.
If you feel you have been a victim of a loan scam, please contact the Federal Trade Commission at 382-4357 (1-877-FTC HELP), or online at www.ftc.gov.
