What’s your bid for $32 million Mercer Island mansion?

One of the most expensive – and stunning – waterfront properties in the Northwest continues toward an August 30 auction date.
The Boulevard Estate on Mercer Island, originally priced at $32 million, was reduced to $28.8 million and sat on the market for more than 18 months. The seven-bedroom, 11.25-bath home on 160 feet of Lake Washington shoreline has more than 13,000 square feet of living space on 1.67 acres, including a four-bedroom children’s wing. Property taxes for 2011 are $110,887, according to King County records.
The estate has two elevators, six fireplaces, a six-car garage and a guest apartment. The pool area has nine water fountains and hidden TV lift for a 152″ plasma screen that retracts into the pool deck to watch the hydros.
The Lytle Mansion, which sold at auction last year to Video Only founder Peter Edwards, is nearby. That estate, once priced at $40 million, sold for about 25 percent of the original number.
Alabama-based J.P. King Auction is handling the Boulevard Estate proceedings. The high-end auction specialist also is offering the $27.5 million Hagadone Estate on Lake Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, and the Waterside condominium complex at Flathead Lake, Montana. The company sold the Powderhorn Ski Resort in Colorado, the Hunt Ranch near Spokane and the Madonna Ranch in San Luis Obispo.
J.P. King included every possible description about the home to lure buyers from all corners of the globe, including . . . Mercer Island Mansion is located on the western shores of Mercer Island with access to the Puget Sound and Pacific Ocean.
