Gavin Seim is a professional photographer and gun owner who is organizing the "I Will Not Comply Rally," and he says, "The collective majority does not have the right to vote away the rights of another."

In Washington State last week, voters gave a 60 percent majority to Initiative 594 – an initiative that closes the gun show loophole. It requires that all gun transfers – with a few exceptions – must go through a licensed firearms dealer.

It takes effect next month. And right after it does, this man plans to go to the state capitol, and defy it.

“We’re going to pass guns. We’re going to encourage people to freely buy and sell guns. We’re going to violate I-594 in every possible way because it’s void and we’re declaring it publicly that I-594 will not be tolerated,” says Gavin Seim is a professional photographer and gun owner who is organizing the “I Will Not Comply Rally.”

“The collective majority does not have the right to vote away the rights of another,” he says.

And if someone shows up and they couldn’t get a gun on account of being either insane or felon, can they show up and just buy a gun at this demonstration?

“That’s irrelevant anyhow, because criminals are already bygones. They don’t follow the law anyway so 594 is not for criminals,” says Seim.

The Jason Rantz Show

Gavin Seim, the organizer behind the I Will Not Comply Rally, joins the show to debate the merits of the protest and his particular interpretation of the Second Amendment.

But the answer is yes. Somebody could show up there and buy a gun without being checked.

“It’s not even a relevant question because they can do that anywhere right now, and they can do it anywhere they want,” he says.

He’s taking sign-ups online so it’s hard to say how many people will actually show up, but he expects a pretty good crowd.

“We’ll see anywhere between 3,000 and 8,000,” he says.

Will they be armed? “Well, that’s up to them.”

Seim says it’ll be an orderly crowd, people of faith and peace and liberty, freely trading firearms.

And if you’re asking, ‘But Dave, what if bad guys show up and buy guns?’ Well, I’m pretty sure they’ll be vastly outnumbered by the good guys with guns. At least until they leave.

Ross: Are we killing car culture? Or is car culture killing the US?

I don’t think the question is whether we're going to "kill" our car culture. The real question is can we stop our car culture from killing the U.S.?
