Fire engulfs building, vehicles near South Hill salvage yard

A fire late Sunday night, near South Hill and the Summit View area, in an auto salvage yard required a massive, coordinated response from Central Pierce Fire and Rescue (CPFR) crews.

Fire crews responded to the fire in the 6300 block of 128th Street E., CPFR announced.

13 units respond to fire at South Hill salvage yard

A total of 13 units responded to the fire, including six fire suppression units, three emergency medical service units, and four command and support units.

First responders found the building and several vehicles engulfed in flames.

Firefighters immediately began efforts to suppress the fire, and an engine remained on the scene overnight to monitor for any possible reignition.

CPFR noted that no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
