Local deputies target high narcotic areas, issue 10 felony warrants

Seattle Police and King County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted an operation targeting high narcotic areas. They focused their patrol on areas of 12th & Jackson, 3rd & Yesler, 3rd & Pine, and Belltown.
SPD said nine felony warrants were made for violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substance Act and possession with intent to distribute. One suspect had an additional charge for violation of the Uniform Firearms Act.
According to officials, officers and deputies seized 8.1 grams of mushrooms, 168 M30 blue pills, 43.2 grams of fentanyl pills, 4.4 grams of fentanyl powder, 12.2 grams of meth, 1.8 grams of cocaine, 0.4 grams of heroin, 13.5 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded handgun, and $2,895 in cash.

Two known shoplifting suspects arrested during Lowes, Home Depot operation
The Lynnwood Police Department conducted an emphasis operation with Lowes Home Improvement and Home Depot, where officers were at stores with store security.
LPD said four people were taken into custody, including one who was formally arrested. Two suspects were known shoplifters in the area, and one was charged with a felony.
Stolen comic books found, police tracking down original owners
Lynnwood Police recovered some expensive comic books in a stolen vehicle. Investigators said the comics are still in good condition and are of high value. Officers are looking to return them to their owner.

Bellingham robbers caught after police tracked stolen phone
A Bellingham man was busted for pulling a gun on two people and robbing them.
KGMI Radio said court documents reveal that the victims left an apartment on Home Road Nov. 9 when two men approached them in a parking lot.
Police said one of the men pulled a gun on the victims and threatened to shoot them if they didn’t give up their wallets.
The thieves took a phone, a wallet, both victims’ shoes, and an Xbox.
Police said the phone was tracked to an apartment on Texas Street, where the suspect was taken into custody.
21-year-old Alexander Gutierrez faces robbery and felony harassment charges.

Man pleads guilty to homicide over death of friend
Bellevue Police said 28-year-old Ryuji Kawashima pled guilty to controlled substances homicide for the overdose death of his 26-year-old friend on June 12, 2020.
Investigators said the victim died after taking what he thought was a Percocet pill, but was fentanyl. According to police, the victim purchased pills from the suspect the night he died. The victim and his girlfriend both consumed the pills, but only the victim’s pill had a fatal dose of fentanyl.
Bellevue police said this is the first Controlled Substances Homicide guilty plea in King County in the last 18 years.
