The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said a home invasion shooting early Friday morning was a targeted attack.
“There were several people who had broken into the home, shot the man and then left the man in critical condition,” KCSO Spokesman, Kevin McCarty, told KIRO Newsradio on Friday. “It’s important to point out that this was not random. The people who came and broke into the home apparently knew they were after. So, this was not a random break-in.”

It happened on a cul-de-sac in East Bremerton just after midnight. Deputies said there were several people in the home at the time of the attack.
“In addition to the man who was wounded, there were about five other people in the home,” McCarty said. “None of them were injured, none of them were children. These were apparently all adults.”
20-year-old man critically injured in Bremerton shooting
McCarty said the person who was shot was a 20-year-old Bremerton man. No one else was injured in the attack and KCSO said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
“Of course, it’s a terrifying thing to happen for the people inside the home and it’s a terrifying thing for neighbors around the home,” he said. “It’s generally a quiet little neighborhood.”
