Jun 8, 2012, 11:40 AM | Updated: 12:48 pm

Police suspect a woman was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol when she crashed head-on into another car Thursday night in Federal Way, killing the driver.

Police say the woman was driving without the car lights on. She crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle.

“That vehicle went airborn, and was secondarily struck by a third vehicle,” said Cathy Schrock with the Federal Way Police Department.

The suspect also had her 4-year-old son in the car at the time. The two were treated at a Seattle hospital after the crash.

She was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide.

The driver from the third car involved in the crash sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
