Bellevue detectives made a major organized retail theft bust, breaking up three major regional theft rings that had stolen over $100,000 in merchandise.

Video released by BPD shows three thieves working to steal $93,000 in handbags from the Louis Vuitton store. The same crew is suspected to have hit the same Louis Vuitton twice in June.

The King County prosecutor charged Billy Chambers, Memory Yearby, and Earnetra Turner with two counts of first-degree organized retail theft, and Trey Kendall was charged with first-degree stolen property trafficking. All four have extensive criminal histories.

A second case involves a 24-year-old Janay Luckey charged with organized retail theft and trafficking stolen property after she was caught stealing $13,000 worth of merchandise from Nordstrom. She has also been charged with five other counts for a string of thefts in Seattle worth more the 84,000.

Finally, a third case involves a nearly $7,000 theft from Ulta in Factoria. Detectives say two suspects stole 62 bottles of perfume. One of the suspects was arrested in Kent, and charges are pending against the other, who is also a suspect in the Louis Vuitton theft from above.

The Organized Retail Theft Task Force created by Attorney General Bob Ferguson was involved with the arrests, saying that cracking down on these crimes not only makes Bellevue safer but the region as a whole.

Standoff in Kent ends with man in custody

A man was taken into custody and two guns were recovered Wednesday afternoon, following an hours-long standoff at a Kent apartment at the Olympic Skyline Apartments at 235th Place.

Witnesses told police a man was arguing with his neighbors, pointed a gun at them, and ran into his apartment.

A SWAT team secured the area, and a trained hostage negotiator tried to coax the man out.

Hours later, a judge authorized a warrant for his arrest.

The man refused to surrender, so a K-9 unit and Valley SWAT officers took the man into custody

Storage facility burglars ram two police cars in an escape

At 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, police responded to a call about a break-in at a public storage facility at 14900 block of Aurora Avenue North in Shoreline.

Police caught the robbers, two men and one woman, in the act. That led to a pursuit after they ran to the vehicle they arrived in and rammed a patrol vehicle during their escape.

Suspects attempted to change vehicles after the two men ran to a nearby parking lot and got into a commercial truck, picked up the woman, and as they fled a second time, they rammed a second patrol vehicle.

Deputies pursued the truck for a short time but stopped when the truck started driving into oncoming traffic on Aurora Avenue.

Deputies eventually located the abandoned truck, which was later determined to be stolen out of Kent, near the corner of 45th and Stone in Wallingford.

By then, the suspects were long gone.

Police are still investigating the multiple scenes, looking for any clues that might help in the apprehension of the suspects.

Man shot in the leg in Rainier Valley

Seattle Police are investigating after a man was shot in Rainier Valley at 42nd Avenue South and South Holly Street.

After reporting shots fired at 3:30 a.m., witnesses described seeing three men arguing and hearing gunfire. Officers investigating saw a moving truck driving erratically.

When stopping the truck, police say they found a 37-year-old man with gunshot injuries to his legs and groin, and believe he was involved in the shooting.

Medics transported the man to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating and searching for the other two men.
