Mystery mail heist leaves 28 post office boxes smashed in Oakville

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at the Oakville Post Office, according to KIRO 7.
Officials stated that at least 28 post office boxes were found damaged Thursday morning. The burglary happened sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 5:40 a.m. Thursday. During that time, an unknown suspect or suspects broke open multiple boxes.

Because no security cameras were present at the facility, the sheriff’s office is reaching out to the public for assistance.
Residents who may have seen suspicious behavior in the area are encouraged to report it. Tips can be directed to non-emergency dispatch at (360) 533-8765 or the sheriff’s office at (360) 249-3711 during normal business hours.
Police have not yet confirmed what, if anything, was taken from the boxes. The investigation is ongoing.
