Following the release of their ninth studio album, Gorillaz will make a tour stop at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena for their “The Mountain Tour” on Halloween.

Registrations for tickets under the artist pre-sale are currently live and will be available for purchase on Friday at 10 a.m. Tickets for the general sale will be available on March 9 at 10 a.m., Gorillaz announced.

The focus of the 2026 world tour will be on Gorillaz’s recently released album, “The Mountain,” which came out on Feb. 27, a few weeks short of the band’s 25th anniversary as a group.

Opening for Gorillaz at the Seattle show and several others are the hip-hop trio Deltron 3030 and British rapper Little Simz.

Seattle caps off Gorillaz’s first North America tour since 2022

Gorillaz seemingly saved the best concert for last as Seattle concludes the group’s U.S. and Canada tour with its Halloween show after hitting Portland’s Moda Center a day prior.

The extensive North America tour is Gorillaz’s first since 2022, the last time the band played in Seattle for its “World’s Most Dangerous Tour.” Before that, Gorillaz headlined the then-KeyArena in 2017 for its “Humanz Tour.”

Gorillaz formed in London, England in 1998, led by Blur frontman and musician Damon Albarn, who teamed up with comic-book creator Jamie Hewlett, who took command of the animated visual appearance.

As a virtual band, Gorillaz allowed Albarn to escape from his Britpop stardom behind any of the four animated band members designed by Hewlett. Gorillaz’s animated members include 2-D on vocals and keys, Murdoc Niccals on bass, Noodle on guitar, and Russel Hobbs on drums.

Gorillaz entered the music scene with its self-titled album, “Gorillaz,” in 2001, and the release of the band’s debut single, “Clint Eastwood.” Albarn initially planned to remain anonymous under the guise of the four comic book characters, though his voice revealed his identity almost immediately after the album’s debut.

“Gorillaz” ended up going triple platinum in the United Kingdom, platinum in the U.S., and sold more than 7 million copies worldwide.

Since Gorillaz’s hit debut album, the group has gone on to release countless high-charting studio albums, such as “Demon Days” in 2005 featuring “Feel Good Inc.,” one of their most famous hits, and 2010’s “Plastic Beach” with the hit song “On Melancholy Hill.”

Although Albarn has been a mainstay in the group, the band has been highly collaborative since its inception, featuring several A-list musicians on its albums, including Stevie Nicks, MF DOOM, Tame Impala, Elton John, Kali Uchis, and Snoop Dogg, among many others.
