Seattle’s rowing community will once again turn Lake Washington pink as the Pacific Northwest Pink Ribbon Row returns on Sunday, September 20, 2026, for its 27th annual event supporting local breast cancer patients and their families.

Since 1999, Pink Ribbon Row has united rowers, survivors, families, volunteers, and community members in a shared mission: raising funds and awareness to support early detection, screening, education, and post-diagnosis care for those impacted by breast cancer throughout the Pacific Northwest. To date, the organization has raised more than $1.6 million for local healthcare partners and support programs.

The event features a long distance head race on Seattle’s Lake Washington, officially kicking off the Pacific Northwest fall rowing season. More than 800 rowers participated in 2025, helping raise over $150,000 to benefit local breast cancer initiatives.

Beyond The Competition

Pink Ribbon Row has become known for its vibrant display of community spirit. Crews arrive decked out in creative pink costumes, transforming Lake Washington into a sea of pink in support of breast cancer awareness. The event’s popular costume contest celebrates the camaraderie and passion that have become hallmarks of the regatta.

Community members are invited to gather and cheer on the rowers and enjoy a day of celebration and connection. Attendees can learn more about local breast cancer resources, meet healthcare partners, enjoy food and coffee vendors, browse event merchandise, and participate in fundraising activities that directly benefit local patients.

Pink Ribbon Row began through the vision of rowing advocates Kathryn Frederick and Seattle’s Penny Lewis and has grown into one of the nation’s largest rowing events dedicated to supporting breast cancer awareness and patient care. In 2025, the organization launched as an independent nonprofit to further strengthen its local impact and ensure that funds raised remain in the community.

Whether you’re a competitive rower, breast cancer survivor, supporter, volunteer, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back, Pink Ribbon Row offers an opportunity to make a difference while celebrating the strength and resilience of the community.

For more information, about volunteer opportunities, or to make a donation, visit PinkRibbonRow.org

Together, we can continue working toward the organization’s vision of “leaving breast cancer in our wake.”
