Everett man charged for animal crushing videos, child porn, threats

A 23-year-old man from Everett, Washington, has been arrested and federally charged with threatening to kill a Massachusetts minor, distributing child sexual abuse material, and sharing videos of crushing live animals.

Joseph Pacheco was indicted in Boston on multiple charges, including knowingly distributing child pornography to a minor, five counts of transmitting threatening communications across state lines, and possession and distribution of animal abuse videos.

According to court documents, Pacheco allegedly sent multiple messages to a minor in Massachusetts and shared content on social media associated with Nihilistic Violent Extremist groups that aim to destabilize society through violent acts. 

The indictment details five alleged threats Pacheco made to the minor between June and July 2025, including statements threatening murder and rape.

If convicted, Pacheco faces severe penalties. Distribution of child pornography carries a prison sentence of five to 20 years, up to a lifetime of supervised release, and fines up to $250,000. Sending threatening communications could result in up to five years in prison, and distributing animal cruelty videos carries a penalty of up to seven years.
