Man seriously injured in Delridge, shooter on the loose

A shooting in West Seattle’s Delridge neighborhood left a man in serious condition.
The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said it happened just after 12:30 p.m. near 16th Ave. SW and SW Barton St.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, as well as additional injuries to his hand and leg. Officers provided medical aid until Seattle Fire crews arrived. The victim was then transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition.
“Officers arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, as well as other injuries to his hand and leg,” SPD Detective Brian Pritchard said.
Altercation preceded the shooting
Pritchard said some type of altercation led to the shooting.
The suspect fled the scene and has not been caught.
“The suspect, after the shooting, fled the scene eastbound on Henderson,” Pritchard said. “We brought our K9 unit out, but they were unable to locate the suspect.”

All officers know is that the suspect is a man.
Detectives are still working to determine whether the suspect and victim knew each other. SPD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit went to Harborview to speak with the victim and gather more information.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect to contact Seattle Police or 911.
