One person died, and three others were injured in a violent incident in Pasco early Saturday.
Officers were dispatched after a report of gunshots near Fourth Ave. and Court St. When they arrived, they found one person who later died despite officers’ efforts to provide lifesaving aid, according to Lt. Thomas Groom of the Pasco Police Department.
Two other people at the location had been shot or stabbed, Groom said. A fourth injured person was found outside a vehicle that had gone off the road north of the scene. Investigators later determined that person’s injuries were also sustained during the incident.
“Some of the victims were teenagers, and others were young adults. We have not determined what led to the violence or whether more than one person was responsible. That is part of our investigation,” Groom said.
The incident took place at a well-attended party, Groom said, but investigators do not yet have a precise estimate of how many people were there.
“What I can say is it was a well-attended party. There were many people at the location,” Groom said.
