Teen suspect arrested in Tacoma North End homicide; second suspect also in custody

Tacoma Police have arrested a teenage suspect in connection with a deadly shooting on the city’s North End, bringing the total number of people in custody in the case to two.
Detectives said that on Aug. 12, a juvenile male was taken into custody without incident and booked into Remann Hall for first-degree murder. He is the second suspect tied to the Aug. 7th homicide on N. 30th Street.
The investigation began when officers were called to the 2100 block of N. 30th Street just after 2 a.m., Aug. 7, for reports of a shooting. They arrived to find an adult man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers performed lifesaving measures until Tacoma Fire crews arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
While officers were still on scene, they learned that an adult male had arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Detectives later determined that the man was connected to the N. 30th Street shooting. After developing probable cause for his arrest, they booked him into the Pierce County Jail for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery once he was medically cleared.
Tacoma Police said the case remains an active and ongoing homicide investigation.
