Are you looking forward to being Hillary Clinton’s boss?

So now there is going to be another investigation into whether Hillary Clinton lied to Congress last October when she testified during the Benghazi hearing and said: “there was nothing marked classified on my emails, either sent or received.”

Because it turns out there was a marking. In the body of some emails was the letter “C” in parenthesis for “classified.”

Now, you know me. I love this stuff because I made a living commenting on it, but I found myself thinking, really?

We just heard in Thursday’s hearing that if Hillary Clinton had been an FBI Agent, Director James Comey, as her boss, could have fired her for keeping that unprotected server in her basement.

“It would be fair — if that person worked for me — it would be fair to have a robust disciplinary proceeding,” Comey explained. “It’s not fair to prosecute a person on these facts.”

There it is. We know what we need to know. This is a case where the discipline would come not from the courts, but from her boss. Well, assuming she gets the nomination in three weeks, you and I will be her boss.

That’s our system. We put a lot of trust in voters to police our politicians. And I think we can handle it.

So for Congress to demand another investigation by the FBI? Based on what just happened in Dallas I think we have far bigger problems for the FBI to deal with.
