7:44: And we’re off to the spin room. Potential controversy – audible groan in media center when Huntsman played the son-in-Navy card.

7:42: Time for the funny humanizing questions — Newt blows the sports question, says basketball sted football. Huntsman invokes Navy sons.

7:40: During the break TV reporters adjusting hair for their standups.

7:34: Huntsman talks Chinese and gets laughter here in media center. Message — I can actually SPEAK to one of our biggest trading partners.

7:33: Mitt is not against all regulations, just the ones that hurt business. And then he goes right back to the vision thing. This is his theme.

7:30: Santorum says America is a classless society – our incomes are different, but no classes. I guess he’s saying we all get the same leg room?

7:28: It’s official– Gingrich mentions Reagan at 10:28.

7:26: Mitt sick of being in wonk-land; wants to talk vision. Obama = Europe; Mitt = Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.

7:25: Perry says pass right-to-work law, and make NH a magnet for jobs in NE. I smell a Hail Mary to South Carolina.

7:22: Mitt sticks to his middle course — would eliminate tax on the SAVINGS of middle class Americans. That made my heart skip a beat.

7:19: Rick is worried about being uncompetitive due to 35% corp tax, and he would make it ZERO. Even Herman Cain wouldn’t go that low!

7:17: Huntsman says he would have ripped open the tax code and pulled out all the loopholes. Only if he anesthetizes the Congress first.

7:16: Newt talks energy independence. And endorses building bridges in New Hampshire! Shocking!

7:12: Yup, checked Wikipedia — US Navy has been patrolling the Persian Gulf since WWII.

7:06: Santorum says without war we wouldn’t have had a fleet there? Not true! Fleet’s been there a long time.

7:05: Paul says he does not want Iran to get a nuke, but still opposes world policeman. References US rescue of Iranian fisherman. Amen!

7:02: “No American President ever again bows to a Saudi King” — that was Newt’s biggest applause line at the veterans event we attended today.

7:01: Rick Perry “I would send troops BACK INTO IRAQ.” Yikes. Two wars in perpetuity. OK, and you would find gthe money for that…

7:00: Uh oh –Santorum wants to stay “until country is secure” — but can’t say how long. OK then — would you pay for it?

6:58: Gingrich lays out his doomsday mid east scenario, and says it’s NOT a military problem. Is there a strategy consensus developing?

6:57: Romney wants to bring home troops based on advice from generals. Huntsman notes that it’s the President, not the generals, who make policy.

6:55: Huntsman says Afghanistan has been a success, and it’s time to come home. He sounds identical to … or even left of Obama on this.

6:53: Paul: “Catching up on Mitt every single day”

6:52: Gay people who pay taxes tend to think their money should not be used to discriminate against them.

6:51: …forcing Catholic Church to end adoption services that discriminate against gays. But that would only apply to government-funded services

6:50: Mitt says we’re not discriminating against gays, but we want to encourage male-female parents. Newt says this is forcing Catholic Church…

6:48: Santorum is trapped on this — he’d let gay married couples adopt kids, then change the constitution to dissolve their marriages!

6:46: Huntsman supports civil unions. But marriage reserved for one man one woman.

6:44: Santorum says Roe v Wade created a right that wasn’t there, we have no right to take human life. Yes, Diane, let’s move on.

6:43: Mitt says contraception is going just fine. But finally says Supreme Court should overturn Roe v Wade. Oh, I see – its code for abortion!

6:41: Mitt says contraception is an unusual topic – he would oppose state ban. Does the state have the right? George S asks. Mitt senses a trap.

6:38: Waiting for someone to invoke Reagan — my guess is Newt will be first.

6:36: Notable: a hush falls over crowd here in media cener when they cry “liar!” Although I haven’t heard the actual word yet. #NHdebate

6:35: Paul tells Newt re: military service — I was drafted, and I went. #NHdebate. I guess that trumps merely being from a military family.

6:33: Ron Paul talks about human costs of war; says his anti war stance is not about libertarianism, it’s about the Constitution. Newt calls liar!

6:28: Here’s Newt – he was speaking to a veterans event today and he hits the local issue, NH Vets can’t get to hospitals when it snows.

6:26: We rescued their boat when they couldn’t. That pretty much says who’s boss, IMHO.

6:25: Mitt says Obama silent when millions took to streets in Iran. Hey — but we rescued one of their boats from the pirates!

6:23: Huntsman is asked about leadership, but is talking generalities. Finally mentions his China experience.

6:20: Rick Perry says Ron Paul is an INSIDER! More fightin’ words. Calls him a hypocrite. Bam! Whack!

6:18: Santorum says he worked for a coal company because he wanted to stop cap and trade. Paul calls him Big Gov conservative. Fightin’ words.

6:17: Rick says the charges that he’s a corrupt lobbyist come from a left wing organization. Bogus. Will he fire back about Ron’s newsletters?

6:16: George tries to get Ron and Rick to fight – about Ron’s attack ad. Rick basically calls him a LIAR!

6:10: Newt is for free enterprise, but not for company-flipping. Yet that’s part of free enterprise, right? You fire surplus people.

6:08: Mitt says his experience is in leadership. Newt has a story about leadership and squirrels – lets see if he uses it.

6:06: Santorum gets to open from center stage. Diane tries to get him to diss Romney who is now right next to him.
