Would Donald Trump deport illegal immigrants or not?

There’s another hint that Donald Trump may be softening on the issue that put him on the map – illegal immigrants.

Over the weekend, Univision reported that Trump invited Hispanic leaders to Trump Tower where he told them among other things that he had a plan to legalize millions of undocumented immigrants.

Was that story just clickbait, or is he actually changing his approach to appeal to more Hispanic voters?

On CNN Sunday, Trump’s new campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told reporters there was nothing stated that differs from what the Republican candidate has said in the past.

And it’s true, he’s always had a plan for legalizing immigrants. But part of that plan was to first ship the illegal ones out of the country, which he told a skeptical Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC last fall.

“You’re going to have a deportation force and you’re going to do it humanely…” Trump explained.

But the story about Trump’s weekend meeting with Hispanic leaders makes no mention of any such deportation force.

So did he tell them something different?

CNN’s Dana Bash asked Conway if his plan includes a deportation force.

“To be determined,” she responded.

So she says nothing has changed, but when asked if that means her boss is sticking with his original plan for a deportation force, instead of just saying yes, she says, “to be determined.”

I don’t remember English being this difficult.
