“We are in a very, very bad place right now. It’s going to take some Republicans to stand up and say we’re not going to crash this economy,” says Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

He told KIRO Radio’s Dave Ross that members of the Republican Party in Congress are the ones that have to stand up and say that they want a vote to resolve the shutdown – and they are aware of that.

“To think of the ramifications of our state: slowing down the aerospace industry, preventing veterans from getting care, reducing our ability to provide unemployment compensation, benefits and training so that people can get back to work – because you’re (Republicans) afraid to cross the speaker? That’s just wrong.”
