As we all know Mitt Romney’s performance Wednesday was stunning — but now that the cheering has died down, some conservatives have to be asking themselves: Which end zone did he run for?

Maybe that’s why the President seemed not to care — why throw a block if the guy intercepting your passes keeps running in the same direction?

Last night on Fox, Mr. Romney even threw himself under the bus for his 47 percent remark.

“In this case I said something that is just completely wrong. My life has shown that I care about 100 percent,” said Romney.

Meantime, the President is so confused he was still campaigning against the OLD Romney.

“He’ll get rid of regulations on Wall Street, but he’s going to crack down on Sesame Street.”

Not true Mr. President — Romney did NOT say he’d get rid of regulations on Wall Street! In fact, just the opposite. Once upon a time he hated the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform act, but in the debate, he was asked, “Do you want to repeal Dodd-Frank?”

“Well I would repeal it and replace it. We’re not going to get rid of all regulation,” said Romney.

Repeal and REPLACE. And the main thing he’d change? The part that designates five banks as too big to fail.

“This is the biggest kiss that’s been given to New York banks I’ve ever seen.”

And you know what? Every liberal agrees with him! In fact, everyone except the shareholders in those banks agrees with him.

As for Obamacare, he would repeal it, but then find ways to keep most of what it does. Social Security? No change.

And no tax cuts for the rich. What tax cuts for the rich?

“I cannot reduce the burden paid by high income Americans,” said Romney.

Leading one to ask: If this represents the true feelings of the Republican party, what have we been fighting about for the last four years?
