Look who’s suddenly a terrible debater.
“I know folks in the media are speculating already who’s going to have the best zingers. I don’t know about that”
said Barack Obama – warning a crowd he may be off his zinger game on Wednesday.
And adviser David Plouffe agrees.
“Challengers tend to do really well in debates. That’s been the history. We’ve believed all along that Governor Romney has more benefit out of this debate potentially than we do,” Plouffe said.
Yes. Suddenly Mitt Romney is no longer this stiff and awkward off-putting capitalist, he’s a debate colossus.
“After watching all of the Republican debates during the fall and winter, I felt that Romney was quite good at that format. He has a command of facts, he looks presidential, he has a sense of humor, he’s quick. I think there’s a real chance that he could survive people Wednesday,” said Greg Vallaire, Chief Political Strategist with Potomac Research.
Suddenly he’s Daniel Webster. Whereas the president, despite attending Harvard and Columbia, teaching Constitutional law, and being president for four years with access to unlimited facts; despite having perfect pitch (as evidenced by several of his impromptu singing stints.)
Despite all this, we’re hearing Barack Obama is on the verge of a panic attack.
Relax man. Take a few deep breaths, do some knee bends, and look at the swing state polling. You can get through it.
