Is Mitt Romney hiding something embarrassing?

The issue on the weekend talk shows was Mitt Romney’s
tax returns. He released his 2010 return, showing he
earned 21 million, and he’s promised to release 2011, but
that’s it.
The Obama people seem to think he has something to
hide, like how long he was actually in charge of Bain
Capital.
But Romney spokesman Ed Gillespie explained that
there’s nothing fishy, he stopped running the company to
save the Salt Lake Olympics, just as he said.
“He took a leave of absence and in fact ended up not
going back at all and retired retroactively,” Gillespie
said.
Retroactive retirement. And he told David Gregory on
Meet the Press, that we need to get back to the real issue
here:
“What are we going to do to make it where more
Americans are filing their income taxes because they have
a job?”
He’s right. But I think we’d especially like to know
more about the kind of job where you can keep earning $21
million a year in a recession after retroactively
retiring.
I’ve got a nice commentary gig here, but it doesn’t
bring in that kind of money and yet, my tax rate is
higher. Plus, I’ve been doing it for 20 years, five years
longer than Romney ran Bain Capital and it’s not going to
pay out $21 million when I retire.
Now of course, the reason the Obama people want to see
more returns is that they hope Romney will be embarrassed.
But I think a lot of us would like to see more returns
too…not because we want to embarrass him, we want to
copy him!
