ISIS fighters seeking fame should remember even Chihuahuas get on TV

It's true, ISIS fighters could end up with your picture on TV. But so can a Chihuahua in a tutu, KIRO Radio's Dave Ross says.
Members of ISIS have to be over the moon that so many of our politicians see them as a force that could threaten Western Civilization.
French author Nicolas Henin found ISIS to be something very different.
“There are a lot of people who are lost souls,” he said.
He should know, because Henin was held hostage by ISIS for 10 months in Syria. Earlier this year, he spoke with Euronews about who his captors really were. Through a translator, he described one of them as an empty-headed TV addict.

“He went to Syria to be famous. To be on TV,” he said. “All his references were from reality TV. Court room programs about crime. His entire ideology was based more on French TV than the Quran.”
That’s the other thing; they know next to nothing about Islam.
“Islam is a crutch,” Henin said. “A way of expressing their anger, their desire to detach themselves from society.”
He put his experience as a hostage into a book called “Jihad Academy,” and he has a simple message for any young Frenchmen seeking a glorious life as an ISIS fighter.
“First of all read my book. Then I would say, above all, if you travel to Syria, you will be killing Muslims.”
Very likely including yourself. But it’s true, you could end up with your picture on TV. Then again, these days so can a Chihuahua in a tutu.
