It’s so unfair

Listen to Dave’s Commentary: It’s so unfair
American Idol is now inviting the president to perform with Al Green after his little audition last week at the Apollo:
“I’m so in love with you” -Obama
A rendition so pitch perfect that Al Green downloads skyrocketed.
OK so here comes Mitt Romney…
“America, America God shed his grace on thee.”
But downloads of America the Beautiful have not skyrocketed. If anything, people probably tried to return their downloads.
I think… rap might be a better genre for him: Yo America — yuh beautiful! Because in Obama, he’s up against a musical prodigy. The president may not be able to create jobs, but he has gospel R&B vibe down.
However, in defense of Republican musical abilities, let me take you back to 1961…
[You know who this is? Richard Nixon on Jack Paar, playing a concerto that he wrote! He was pretty good. And way better than a certain Democratic presidential pianist:]
TRUMAN-PETRILLO DUET
It’s horrible…you’d think Truman was playing with boxing gloves. He even joked his piano playing was so bad he used it TO SPEED UP TREATY NEGOTIATIONS. Come to think of it, yes, that’s how Romney could get Iran to give up its nukes!
