We court danger on a hike to Anthony’s Nose on the east side of the Hudson River.
The hikes in the Hudson Valley are easy compared to the Cascades, but the views aren’t bad.
The Bear Mountain Bridge from Anthony’s Nose. NYC is about 45 miles to the left, West Point is about 3 miles to the right.
For President’s Day, we drove north on the Albany Post Road to FDR’s estate.
Not quite Downton Abbey. Compared to other Hudson Valley estates, this one is actually considered modest.
Most interesting exhibit — the Pearl Harbor manuscript. “Infamy” was a last-minute substitution for the anodyne “world history.”
Mom and I relax with the American Aristocracy.
