Dave Ross Commentary – Listen: No bail for the McDonald’s bullies

The 18 and 14-year-old girls caught on video pummeling a transgender woman who had tried to use the bathroom at a McDonald’s near Baltimore will stay locked up for now.

The older girl is in the most trouble. In fact the judge asked why she was only charged with assault and not attempted murder — turns out she attacked another woman in that same McDonald’s last year.

But the most outrageous thing is that while this woman is being beaten and dragged across the restaurant, the only person who tries to help is Vicki Thoms — age 55, recovering from a back injury:

“When they started really, really hurting her to the point that I thought she was going to die, that’s when I decided somebody needs to do something.”

But as she told WBAL in Baltimore, they would NOT stop.

“The one girl said to me, this is none of your f-ing business and hit me in the face,”

And then an employee explained to Vicki WHY this was happening:

“I think it was the manager that said to me, ‘You do know that’s not a woman. That that’s a transvestite.” And I said, ‘So, she’s human.”

Something which apparently hadn’t occurred to anybody else.

Prosecutors are still deciding whether this is a hate crime… and the older suspect’s mother says there’s more to the story — I can’t wait to hear what angels these two really are!

In any case, seeing as we all gotta pee sometime and would rather not be kicked in the head for doing it, I can see why a judge wouldn’t want them running around free.
