Report expressing ‘considerable concern’ over Hillary Clinton’s emails will not help with honesty issue

The emails are back!
“The American people are sick and tired of hearing about your damn emails,” Bernie Sanders said last year.
At the time, that looked like a pretty generous gift to Hillary Clinton, but maybe it wasn’t. After that, she seemed to blow off the investigation into her private email server and whether she violated her own department’s policy.

“I’m not concerned about it and no Democrat or American should be either,” Clinton explained.
Except now, the state department’s inspector general has issued a report expressing considerable concern.
“The report said diplomatic security officials did not and would not have signed off because the arraignment violated policies implemented in 2005,” said CBS’s Nancy Cordes.
That was well before Clinton became secretary of state.
The report also confirms that CBS’s John Dickerson was onto something when he asked this question last year: “Some people who know you and have worked with you say there’s nobody around you who can say, ‘Secretary Clinton, that is a bad idea.’ Do you have such a person?”
“I have too many, actually,” Clinton responded.
But the inspector general’s report found nothing to chuckle about. State Department IT staffers who expressed concerns about Clinton’s setup were rebuffed. One was told by higher-ups that the matter would not be discussed further.
The inspector’s report did not find any indication of a security leak, but it’s not going to help Clinton with the honesty issue. In fact, I think it’s going to remind people of that encounter with Scott Pelley back in March.
“You talk about leveling with the American people. Have you always told the truth?” Pelley asked Clinton.
“I’ve always tried to, always,” she responded.
