Ross: Hunter Biden laptop finally has Fox News, mainstream media agreeing on something

It warms my heart any time I see our politically polarized country finding common ground, and here it is, thanks to Hunter Biden.

The New York Times and the Washington Post are finally doing what Republicans and Fox News hosts have been demanding since 2020: they are now taking the emails on Hunter Biden’s broken laptop seriously.

The Washington Post even hired forensic experts who were able to verify nearly 22,000 emails as definitely belonging to Hunter Biden, as opposed to being planted by someone trying to set him up.

So that means there’s a good chance we will learn about the money he made from his deals in China and Ukraine, and whether he – or his father – did anything wrong.

But what’s really interesting to me is the reason this investigation is happening at all.

It’s a TAX investigation. It’s not about depravity or corruption. Rather, it’s about whether Hunter Biden cheated on his taxes.

Quoting from the Washington Post story about the laptop:

“The MacBook itself is now in the hands of the FBI, which is investigating whether Hunter Biden properly reported income from business dealings,” it reported.

So this investigation is to determine whether he will be indicted for filing an inaccurate return. And again, this is being applauded by Fox Hosts – like Judge Jeanine Pirro.

“He is a disgusting human being, and anyone else would be in jail, without a doubt,” she opined recently.

And I find that encouraging… I find that encouraging because lately conservatives have not been big supporters of tax investigations.

Even though $1 trillion in taxes goes unpaid every year and gets added to the national debt, Republicans have consistently opposed the IRS’s requests for more funding. Only a few months ago, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a man with impeccable conservative credentials, was recommending cutting the IRS budget by 50%, which is basically like de-funding the police. It would probably stop audits altogether.

To see the Washington Post, the New York Times, and Fox News agreeing that the FBI has a right to examine a businessman’s laptop to see if he paid his taxes, and that if he didn’t – he should be punished…

“Anyone else would be in jail without a doubt.”

That level of consensus on the prosecution of tax evasion is beautiful thing. Unless it only applies to Hunter Biden.
