Ross: Pro-mask camp gets an unexpected ally

I know the news about the virus hasn’t been great this week and a big reason, unfortunately, is men. Women seem to get it.

But men, particularly in the manlier states like Kentucky and Texas, have refused to wear masks, allegedly because it shows weakness.

However, that has all been wiped away by a clear statement from the floor of the Senate, from none other than Mitch McConnell.

“We must have no stigma, none, about wearing a mask when we leave our homes and come near other people,” he said this week.

That’s the majority leader of the Senate, a man who can kill legislation with his bare hands, making it official on the Senate Floor that no one who wears a mask shall have his manhood questioned.

I think he understands that even people who can never accept masks as manly will come to realize that without them, you can’t pursue activities that are unquestionably manly – like packing into a bar to drink and speak loudly.

And look, he’s not asking you to wear a Joe Biden black grim reaper mask or a fussy little surgical mask – you can even wear an outlaw bandanna.

If anybody questions your masculinity, you look him in the eye and you say, “Son, I’m masculine alright. Maskuline – with a K. So don’t make me take this thing off.”
