After the Mueller report it was hard to imagine the news could get any better for President Trump. But then – it did!
“Michael Avenatti was arrested today and faces federal charges on both sides of the country,” CBS’s Jeff Glor reported Monday.

Michael Avenatti, attorney for Stormy Daniels, was charged in New York and Los Angeles for allegedly going way too far in trying to squeeze money out of a corporation.
To think it was only last year that Avenatti was considering a run for president. He even posted an anti-Trump ad right before the 2018 election, which stated, “No more thoughts and prayers. If you’ve put big money first, and us second, your time is done. Done. Done.”
He assembled a group of Democratic political advisors, he visited 20 states, he described himself as the only Democrat ruthless and authentic enough to bring down Trump. And he set up an organization called the “Fight Club” to raise money.
“Our constitution says ‘we the people,’ not ‘me the president.’ Stand up. Join the Fight Club,” his ad stated.
But now it looks like there may have been an entirely different agenda behind those fundraising efforts.
Avenatti forgot the first rule of politics – you need to win before the charges are filed.
