Rules for the Super Bowl

The rules for fans at University of Phoenix stadium dictate: No air horns, no aerosol cans, no animals – except for your service pig, of course – no bottles, cans, brooms, coolers, knives, laser pointers, illegal drugs, large umbrellas, fireworks or folding chairs.

But there’s one rule they forgot – and that’s where the FAA’s latest video comes in:

“Going to the big game? Have fun! Cheer on your team! And keep it a no drone zone. Leave your drone at home.”

I have to admit, I gave my kids all kinds of common sense advice growing up – Don’t enter a lion cage smelling like an antelope. Don’t grab yourself in the end zone. Don’t play with the big red door handle after takeoff.

Now that I think of it, I never thought to remind them not to fly a drone at the Super Bowl.

But that’s why we have the FAA. In fact, they even released a Christmas video:

“It’s that time of year when kids of all ages unwrap the box and find an unarmed aircraft.”

It’s like a Normal Rockwell painting. Of course then the kid grows up, gets drunk, and crashes a quadcopter at the White House. If only that guy had seen the FAA video:

“How do you make sure you stay off the naughty list? Don’t fly your unmanned aircraft beyond your line of sight. Don’t fly anything that weighs more than 55 pounds. What weighs 55 pounds? Ralph, the world’s largest bunny rabbit.”
