Should we pay attention to Trump’s twitter during Comey hearing?

On Thursday, KIRO Radio will be broadcasting live the hearing with former FBI Director James Comey, and the word is that President Trump plans to monitor the hearing and live tweet his reaction.

The question is: should we pay attention?

Comey to Congress: President Trump told him I need loyalty

Press Secretary Sean Spicer said absolutely because Trump’s tweets are an official statement.

But at the State Department, spokesperson Heather Nauert said reporters seemed fixated on his Twitter feed.

“The secretary has addressed this and, eventually guys, let’s move off this social media thing.”

One of the senior reporters pushed back.

“You said let’s move away from this social media … we would love to but it’s not us that’s focusing the attention on social media. It’s not us that are tweeting these things.”

Well, we don’t want to be like rubberneckers at a fender bender, but on Thursday, should the president start live-tweeting, you can bet we’ll all be monitoring his Twitter feed and sharing.

As of Tuesday, it didn’t sound like Spicer expected the president to be tweeting. He said the president has a “full day” scheduled that doesn’t include Twitter.

President Trumps only comment on the subject matter:

“I wish him luck.”
