The city of Seattle has granted the Occupy protesters a permit to demonstrate at the big Christmas kick-off downtown. And a lot of people are asking… why?

Why grant them a permit to demonstrate in the heart of the shopping district during on a day when it will be packed with Black Friday shoppers and hyped up children waiting to see Santa.

And the reason of course is… the Constitution of the United States of America. Which over the years has proven to be the most anti-Christmas document ever written.

Because it not only prohibits an official religion, but also confirms the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

But here’s my advice to the Occupy movement: While many of the 99 percent may be on your side, getting between them and Santa or a doorbuster sale could be dangerous.

So I’m proposing they send this message:

We are the 99 percent let nothing you dismay
If you’re in line for Santa Claus we won’t get in your way ‘Cause if we did we know the cops would use their Pepper Spray, which would bring more discomfort than joy…

Amen.
