Ted Nugent, Motor City Madman, now constitutional
activist, sat down with the Secret Service, probably to
discuss these remarks made during a broadcast from the NRA
convention:
“I’d tell you this right now, if Barack Obama becomes
the president in November, I will either be dead or in
jail by this time next year,” said Nugent.
This one probably came up too.
“If the coyote is in your living room pissing on your
couch, it’s not the coyote’s fault, it’s your fault for
not shooting him.”
And maybe this:
“We are patriots. We are braveheart. We need to ride in
that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any
questions?”
None at all. As Nugent pointed out, these aren’t
threats…these are metaphors:
“I’ve never threatened anybody’s life in my life. I
don’t threaten. I don’t waste breath threatening,” said
Nugent.
If they had come of of the mouth of some middle eastern
Imam, we might see them differently, but it’s just Ted.
It’s what he does. And so the Secret Service quickly
closed its little investigation. They have another
investigation to worry about anyway.
I find myself strangely unshocked by this anymore. I
think it’s because if you spend any time on the Internet,
it’s the kind of stuff you see every day, usually by about
the fourth or fifth comment after the article you just
read, when the trolls take over.
At least Ted Nugent can play a mean guitar too.
