Donald Trump drops a hint for how he’d defeat ISIS

We got a taste of the debates to come Wednesday night when Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump each took a half hour answering questions in front of a military audience on what kind of commander in chief they’d be and how they would handle ISIS.
The clearest difference between the two is how they would beat ISIS. Clinton says she’d provide US assistance, but she wants Arab and Kurdish forces to be on the front lines.

“We are not putting ground troops into Iraq ever again,” Clinton said. “And we’re not putting ground troops in Syria. We’re going to defeat ISIS without committing American ground troops.”
Trump’s plan to defeat ISIS – very different.
“I’ve always said, shouldn’t be there, but if we’re gonna get out, take the oil,” Trump said.
And how would he do that? He would send Americans in to take the oil fields from ISIS, and presumably, hold on to them while we pumped the oil out. And how would he do that?
“I have a very substantial chance of winning,” Trump said. “Make America great again. We’re going to make America great again. If I win, I don’t want to broadcast to the enemy what my plan is…”
But a few minutes after skirting the question by repeating his catch phrase, he seemed to drop a hint.
“If we had a relationship with Russia, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could work on it together and knock the hell out of ISIS,” he said.
Sounds great. Although, I wonder if Putin would want anything in return. Hard to say. Let’s hope it’s just the satisfaction of knowing he’d done the right thing.
