Ross and Burbank listeners also had a lot to say.
Sally from Kent writes:
RE: Last night’s Presidential debate: My boyfriend (age 76, Black gentleman, with emphasis on gentleman) likes that Obama is low-key and not a screamer. I however was less than pleased that Obama was not more animated. We both will vote Obama however.
Esther in Olympia writes:
Romney did very well last night; however, as a well-informed female swing voter, I knew he would do well on domestic issues, which are his strong suit. Let’s wait to see how well Romney does on social policies that also affect the quality of life for minorities, women and children. I like Romney, but DO NOT like other Republicans who will undermine progress made on social issues. I shudder to think of the day when the Republicans come back in power. To get my vote, Romney needs to clearly describe how continued progress will be made for minorities, women and children. He needs to be very specific about civil rights.
Annie in Bothell writes:
Wow, spin it anyway you want to, but Romney clearly shows that he knows what he is talking about. Sorry your “guy” looked like he had no answer for why he has done nothing for the past four years. And as a moderate conservative, I am thrilled that Romney is moving away from the whackos in the tea party and toward the center, where most Americans reside.
Luke responds: I don’t know why she has “guy” in quotes in this email. Is there a rumor about Barack Obama that I don’t know?
You know Annie, I’ll be honest with you, if anything it would behoove Democrats, people who want Barack Obama to win, to overstate how badly he lost this debate because that would motivate the base to get out there. There’s nothing worse than thinking you have it in hand, so if anything, the Democrats should all be saying, oh yeah Barack Obama has no chance of winning this election, it’s going to take 100 percent turnout by Democrats, you know what I mean.
I’m not trying to in some way keep propping Barack Obama up. I just think last night was a great performance by Romney. I still think Barack Obama is going to win the election. But as I’ve mentioned, life for me financially is probably better under Mitt Romney.
Donna in Seattle writes:
Romney actually just showed that again he is good at morphing into whatever he needs to in order to get votes. He came off like a carpet bagger. I’d like to hope that the moderate voters out there saw that he was just pandering. At least you know what Obama stands for. Who knows what Romney is for? All I know for sure is he supports dog crates on roofs of cars.
Tracy in Puyallup writes:
Guys,
The problem with taxing the rich is that the rich just take their business and jobs out of the country. We want those jobs here. The rich don’t have enough money to pay for government overspending at this rate we are at now.
