Reagan Dunn: Show Us the Plan Before You Tax Us
King County just approved a new 0.01% sales tax increase — an extra penny on every $100 purchase — expected to generate about $10 million a year for child care, youth mental health, shelters, and rental assistance.
Councilmember Reagan Dunn voted no. Not because he opposes those services. But because the county approved the tax before identifying specific programs, measurable outcomes, or a plan for where the money actually goes.
He joined The Gee and Ursula Show to explain why he called it a "blank check" — and why he wants the county to prove it can manage the money it already has before collecting more.
