Seattle Graffiti Vandal "Wesh" Gets 5 Months After Mocking the Court

Kyle McLaughlin, known as "Wesh," is one of Seattle's most prolific graffiti vandals. Prosecutors charged him in 10 felony cases. Instead of prison, he got a sweetheart deal — one felony conviction, no prison time, and electronic home monitoring served from his apartment in Honolulu. The conditions: pay restitution, do 200 hours of graffiti cleanup, and stop tagging.

Within weeks, he posted a video to Instagram showing his ankle monitor and then filming himself spraying "WESH" on two walls in Hawaii. The hashtag: #housearrest. He told the judge tagging isn't a crime. The prosecutor who gave him the deal asked for jail. The judge gave him five months. Charlie Harger on accountability that actually showed up.
