Blues & Brews Fest
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 29, Des Moines Beach Park is being taken over by Poverty Bay Blues & Brews Fest, which is delivering exactly what it’s promising: a slate of live blues performances and a wide variety of beers to try. (There will be 15 local breweries on site.) The event, which also will have food for purchase, is a strictly 21-and-up gathering. Find out more about it here.
A Luau Event
Tacoma’s Asia Pacific Cultural Center is hosting, from 3-6 p.m. on Aug. 29, a Polynesian luau event that will treat attendees, for the price of $100, to an authentic island-style dinner, traditional fire-knife dancing, arts and crafts, and more. Get more details here.
CID Food Walk
Take a trip, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Aug. 29, to Seattle’s Chinatown-International District for the CID Food Walk. As part of the event, which starts at Hing Hay Park, several restaurants in the neighborhood are offering discounted bites to the tune of a mere $6 or $8. Learn more here.
