A high-speed chase ended on Monday after two men suspected of stealing a vehicle hit a Washington State Patrol trooper’s car, fled into the woods, and were captured.

A trooper noticed the stolen vehicle in the Auburn area Monday morning, KING 5 reports. The driver of the stolen four-door Toyota attempted to elude the trooper by driving up to 86 mph on nearby highways, according to WSP.

After driving into a residential neighborhood and hitting a pickup truck, the driver of the stolen vehicle rammed the pursuing trooper’s car, according to KING 5.

The suspects ditched the vehicle and ran into the woods near Algona, off of the West Valley Highway.

After hours of searching, law enforcement took the suspects into custody.

One officer involved in the search suffered minor injuries to his head, KING 5 reports.
